One Mind with director Edward A. Burger

About the film: ONE MIND is a cinematic meditation on Zen monastic life in China, where a communion of nature, meditation, and labor reveals a carefully crafted way of life that reflects the very wisdom it seeks to cultivate.

About the filmmaker: Edward A. Burger studied Religious Studies at The College of Wooster and studied Buddhism with Antioch University in Bodh Gaya, India. While abroad he travelled to Myanmar and temporarily ordained as a monk for one month’s time, a pivotal experience that fueled his fascination of and commitment to East Asian culture and spiritual practices.

Following graduation, Edward moved to China, where he would live for 12 years and learn Mandarin. He journeyed to the Zhongnan Mountains to direct AMONGST WHITE CLOUDS, his first feature documentary film. Edward has since directed a second feature documentary, A LIFE IN SHADOWS, and is producing a series of short films including VOWS and ALMS.

Peter and the Farm with director Tony Stone

About the film: Peter Dunning is the proud proprietor of Mile Hill Farm, which sits on 187 idyllic acres in Vermont. The land’s 38 harvests have seen the arrivals and departures of three wives and four children, leaving Peter with only animals and memories.

About the filmmaker: Tony Stone was born and raised in New York City. His first feature, SEVERED WAYS: THE NORSE DISCOVERY OF AMERICA, was released theatrically by Magnolia Pictures. His last film, OUT OF OUR MINDS, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. In 2010, Stone co-founded with Melissa Auf der Maur, BASILICA HUDSON, a massive industrial factory turned performance hall, hosting cutting edge film, music, and art.
